Information collected automatically
When you use the site, we and the services that operate it may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages and features used, timestamps, referring page, landing path, campaign parameters, authentication events, error and security logs, and interactions with saved scenarios or plans.
Information from other services
If you sign in through Google or Microsoft, that provider sends us the account information needed to authenticate you. If you book through an embedded or linked scheduling service, that service may send us the appointment and contact details you choose to provide. Your use of a third-party service is also subject to that provider’s privacy terms.
3. Google user data
“Sign in with Google” is used for authentication. With your consent, we may receive your name, email address, profile image, and a stable Google account identifier. We use this information only to verify your identity, create or link your Jay Templeton Consulting account, maintain your session, display basic profile information, and protect the service from abuse.
We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, documents, or other Google content. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. We disclose it only as described in this policy and as needed to provide and secure the authentication service.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect our access from your Google Account permissions and may contact us to request deletion of the corresponding account information.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, personalize, and maintain the site;
- authenticate users and link saved plans or results to the correct account;
- calculate and deliver readiness scores, estimates, recommendations, plan views, and requested emails;
- respond to inquiries, evaluate applications, schedule conversations, and provide consulting services;
- send newsletters or other requested communications and honor opt-out choices;
- understand feature use, improve performance, troubleshoot errors, and develop new features;
- prevent fraud, spam, misuse, and security incidents; and
- comply with law and enforce our agreements.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations, as appropriate for the activity.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, preserve security preferences, and operate requested features. For example, browser storage may remember an anonymous plan session, business assumptions, saved or voted-on scenarios, and whether you previously opened the Ask Jay panel. If you later sign in, eligible anonymous plan information may be merged into your account.
You can clear or block browser storage through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out or remove anonymous saved plans and preferences. We may also retain first-party event records about use of core product features so we can operate and improve them.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, whether you maintain an account or client relationship, operational and security needs, and legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and enforcement requirements.
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or isolate it from further use where deletion from backups is not immediately practical.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include managed authentication, access controls, encrypted network transport, and measures intended to detect misuse. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password where password access is available and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request access to or a copy of personal information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion of information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. You may also manage connected Google or Microsoft access through the settings for that provider.
To make a privacy request, email jay@jaytempleton.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Applicable law may permit or require us to retain certain information or deny a request; if so, we will explain the basis where required. You may use an authorized agent where local law allows it.
10. International processing
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
11. Children
The site and services are designed for business professionals and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
